FAQs
Q. What is a picture frame moulding?
A picture frame moulding is used primarily for custom framing. It has been shaped into the desired picture frame size and then the finishes are applied. A picture frame moulding always has a rabbett (groove: see framing terms) so that the glass and mats can be inserted.
Q. Why is there no glass with the picture frame moulding?
Some types of artwork and textiles should not be covered with glass so we don"t provide it. Also, shipping charges are lower and damage less likely with just the picture frame moulding.
Q. Why is the backing not provided for the picture frame mouldings?
For many of our clients, the picture frame moulding is just the starting point to create shadow boxes for memorabilia or decorative frame for a mirror. Other clients may use the frame inside a larger frame, or double frame a smaller picture.
Q. Why are the picture frame mouldings not fitted i.e. ready to hang?
Because of the wide range of items that can be framed such as art, needlepoint, certificates, memorabilia, photographs, our clients can then choose the color and types of mats, mountings, etc. that will enhance the work.
Q. Can the picture frame moulding be ordered with mirror and backing ?
Yes. We'll have the picture frame moulding professionally finished at cost with no handling fee. However, this will increase the cost of shipping and insurance charges. To minimize your costs, we recommend taking the picture frame mouldings to your local professional framer.
Q. What are united inches?
The sum of one width and one length e.g. an 11" x 14" picture frame moulding equals 25 united inches.
Q. How are products shipped?
Orders are shipped by United States Postal Service (USPS) or DHL. If you prefer your items to be shipped by DHL, please use the email option to provide us with your zip code and we will contact you with the cost.
The delivery date is determined by the shipping method chosen .
Q. What is your return policy?
We accept returns within 30 days of the shipment date. Please call us at 866-372-6399 for a return authorization number which must be written on the outside of the package so we can track your return. We cannot issue a refund without a return authorization number.
The picture frame moulding must be repackaged as it was originally delivered. We will issue a refund for the product total only, minus shipping charges. The refund will be made in the same manner as the original payment method.
Q. What if I receive a damaged picture frame moulding?
If the picture frame moulding was damaged during shipping, please notify us upon receipt so we can file a claim with the shipper. Do not discard the packaging or the picture frame moulding. We will give you a return authorization number to ship the damaged package back to us at our cost and send you a replacement.
